For an 8x12 shed for example, the slab should be 7 feet 11.5 inches by 11 feet 11.5 inches. This will leave 1\/4 inch of space for each sidewall. This way, the bottom plate can rest on the perimeter of the concrete slab, and the wall siding can go 2.6 inches down the side of the slab. This will prevent rainwater from entering the shed.
